Legislature to Convene in Special Session on Property Insurance
Today, Tuesday January 16, 2007, the Florida Legislature will convene in a Special Session to address the property insurance crisis currently facing Florida's homeowners. As always, Mike welcomes your input on this issue.

you want my comments... very simple "CHEAPER INSURANCE, NOW!!!" or I will have to move out of your district and likely out of the state. Tell the insurance companies to take a walk if you have to, those of us on fixed incomes need some real relief soon.
Get governemnt out of the insurance business altogether. It's not the governement's job to set prices in a supposedly free market. If insurance is too expensive for homeowners, no one says they HAVE to own homes. Renting is a perfectly acceptable alternative. I enjoy drinking fine wines, but it's a hobby that's too expensive for my income level. Therefore, I don't do it often. I don't ask the government to regulate wine prices or "excessive" profits of wine companies.
Day by day prices are increasing and soon the day will come when it will be very difficult to even afford a basic policy. I agree with the above comment that people will more prefer to have a renters policy rather the home or property type.
